Previously, I thought the TOWER OF BABEL was a magnificent, beautiful, powerful and strong building because it was indeed built in one accord and with the same purpose. But if we examine and pay more attention to what the motives for building the tower of Babel were, then we can eliminate ‘the assumption that the tower of Babel was great’ from our imagination.

We all know that in the days of Noah, men were destroyed by the floodwaters, which was higher than the highest mountains at that time. So, the existing water level reached the sky and covered all the land on this earth. Of course, it was a great event and caused its own ‘terror’ when told from generation to generation.

That is the ‘trauma’ experienced by men from Noah’s lineage who continued life on earth after the floodwaters. Even though God had promised not to bring down the floodwaters again. However, it turned out that there was a large group of people under Nimrod’s leadership who did not believe in God’s promises. Trauma, anxiety, and fear of death haunted them. Every time it rained heavily, they were always worried about death.

So, they decided to build the tower of Babel to avoid the floodwaters. That is a building that was built based on fear and distrust of God’s promises. That is, there was no peace and joy when they built it. They were automatically being eaten away by death! So, there really is nothing special about them and the tower of Babel. The smell of death manifested greatly from the system they built. That is the Babylonian system of life.

For those of us who are constantly worried, anxious, or afraid of anything, we are actually being pulled into the BABYLONIAN SYSTEM, which is a system that relies on our own strength and thoughts to be able to live WITHOUT BELIEVING IN GOD’S PROMISES! That’s the life that is being eaten by DEATH, it looks beautiful but it’s actually BAD! This is the time for us to FULLY BELIEVE IN GOD’S PROMISE! WHAT GOD PROMISES, THAT’S WHAT WE BELIEVE! We continue to build or live our lives without being haunted by fear of any kind.

If God did not come down and scatter them, then the existence of the tower of Babel would make them kill and trample each other to get to the highest place! Because in the highest place, men felt safe. That spirit is still working today, that is the ‘spirit of Babel’. Men chase for who will be the most successful, richest, and greatest, and with the highest positions and titles.

In contrast to the Spirit of Christ which is in stark contrast to the spirit of Babel. In the book of Philippians 2:1-11, it says to make us of no reputation and each esteem others better than us. That spirit must unite in our lives and we carry it every day. This is the beginning of the restoration of all things!
