Psalm 51:6 (NIV) Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place

The phrase “faithfulness within the heart” keeps on talking in me and pushing me to evaluate myself :

1. Is there still sincerity in my heart? Especially towards God.

Sometimes this heart can turn right and left when in countenance with God. Without realizing we carry other type of love such as love of blessings, love of money, or love of ourselves, even ‘love of service’. Whereas what God wants is a whole love for God personally, not for others.

This is what I have to fix and establish in myself. I want to go back to my first love for Him. Focus in loving God is the key to keep on living life in God’s straight ways. God who fights, protects, takes care of and escorts us. Our life entirely is in God’s responsibility.

Deuteronomy 6:4-5 (NIV) Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[a] Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.

2. What are the desires that arise in my mind? Are there any other wishes? Do I still eager what the world has to offer? Do I still crave all the glitter of the world? God is not against wealth, but do I still want those things? I want to purify my heart in the midst of a world that continues to shape people to pursue wealth. I want only one thing, which is the KNOWING OF GOD.

Philippians 3:10-11 (NIV) I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.

3. What are the thoughts that come to my mind? Is it the Word or are there various ‘business’?

We should not be jobless, but our minds must not lose focus on His Word either! This is self-discipline that I must improve. Because we can’t help it, faith comes from hearing the Word, and only by faith can we overcome the world!

Matthew 4:4 (NIV) Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.

Romans 10:17 (NIV) Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.

1 John 5:4 (NIV) for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

I keep feeling that there is a huge wave of water in my spirit that is being released by God. The roaring sound is very big, like sea water that rolls high and wide. At the same time, I could feel God’s reality that was increasingly consistently gripping my heart. I am more convinced that…

Never assume that it’s normal if the condition of our spirit dies out and the way we respond to the Word becomes less aggressive than usual. It’s a sign that the ‘world’ is trying to mold us to be passive in following the work of the Spirit and the Word! Especially during the pandemic, we are ‘molded’ to be…
