There is one God’s attribute that I feel: He is God who is very faithful. If God has chosen someone to partner with Him, then God will be faithful to that person no matter what happens. He will ensure to stay with that person until what He has planned be fulfilled.

Of course, not everyone is treated by God that way. Not many, but among them we have often read the stories: Abraham, Moses, David.

Just imagine, Abraham is definitely deserved to be forsaken by God, he is not a good father and husband for his wife and children. He ‘sold’ his own wife twice and the condition of his household is full of conflict as the result of the presence of an Egyptian concubine, Hagar. The question is, why did it have to be Abraham among thousands or even millions of people on earth at that time? Wasn’t there someone else who was
better? Isn’t God Omniscient? Why did He have to remain loyal to Abraham, whom He already knew whose life was not ‘very righteous’?

Moses also experienced the same thing, God was so serious about him. He was willing to wait for Moses at the age of 80 to deliver the Israelites. Wasn’t there someone else who is younger and prepared in between that time? Aaron and Miriam also protested against Moses’ decision when he took another woman to be his wife. God still defended Moses even Moses was raised by God into eternity.

Now let’s talk about David. We all know that behind David’s mightiness in war, his household was very messy and never-ending family conflicts! It was really horrific the condition of David’s life, but still God made David a role model for other kings!

The question is, is God unfair? Does God show favoritism? Can we ‘outplayed’ God? I found that it is not a matter of God’s favoritism or injustice, because God’s justice and love have a different ‘understanding’ from the human version. Rather God is a figure who is FAITHFUL WITH HIS own WORD. If He has said and promised, then this cannot be thwarted and undone by anyone.

Isaiah 55:10-11 (NIV) As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without
watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

I feel the dimension of power and faithfulness even more of every Word that comes out of God’s mouth. When He reveals Himself to us, then declares His Word, that cannot be aborted, even at that time what He says will surely happen. So, it really can’t fail!

Nevertheless, this also should make us realize not to ridicule God. Every day we must evaluate ourselves to keep living in pleasing God. Lest His Word be fulfilled but we don’t take pleasure in the reality of living the Kingdom of Heaven on this earth which is full of truth, peace, and joy.

Believe it, if God has decided and declared something, then this cannot fail and no one can protest. It doesn’t matter what is our condition at the moment, if He has declared then He will fulfill it. So never ‘fear to fail’ to fulfill God’s plan. Just make sure we truly receive the Word that comes out of God’s mouth. If that’s what we experience, then hold firmly to His word no matter what. And of course, allow the Word to work to transform all aspects of our life to please His heart, so we can enjoy a life full of peace and joy on this
earth.
