To reach out the hearts of young people with prayer, intercession, fasting is a classic way that has been left behind. The standard of the church generally in reaching the hearts of young people who are always ‘imitating’ what the world is doing. Usually it is related to color, decoration, fashion, style, music and hobbies.
All of that is adjusted with young people’s trend nowadays. Whereas we know every year trend will have changes. It has been determined what kind of trend that will boom every year for the sake of ‘gaining financial treasury’. For me, it is an extreme ‘folly’ if we follow that! Because all of that will pass, only His Word will remain.
I understand why we are ‘like’ being pulled to follow the ways of this world. This is because the level of fellowship or the grip of God’s reality within us is decreasing. If it keeps on growing stronger, automatically we can firmly reject the ways of this world.
Of course, it needs to be added with perseverance and consistency as well as unwavering faith in facing the ‘invasions’ of the voices of this world. We will be considered not creative enough, incomprehensible, too high, too heavy and so on. That is the voice of this world! Now what determines is ourselves. Do we want to move forward or instead we become ’daunted’ and finally cave in to follow what the world says.
I feel that following God really requires determination, perseverance and being ‘stubborn’ with a statement, “Anyway, no matter what happens, we will remain focused on prayer, fasting and intercession. Before the outpouring of the Spirit, we will continue to persevere!”
This kind of mentality is being eroded constantly by this world. Be aware of this, and immediately align your heart and actions to refocus on prayer! Do not forget our identity in Him, that we are a royal priesthood! It’s only natural that we stay and live in the reality of God’s throne room!
1 Peter 2:9 (NIV) But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
The Holy Spirit affirms in my heart to always live in my identity as a priest, which is the life of prayer, worship, and reading the Word is the most important thing! This is the lifestyle that is considered as old school, outdated and irrelevant but it is the only way for us to experience and announce God’s great deeds to numerous people. So our lives on this earth will once again function as the tabernacle of the living God.
Revelation 21:3-4 (NIV) And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself
will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[a] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
Acts 2:17 (NIV) “‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and
daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.
It doesn’t matter if you are old, young, or a small child, because all human beings will experience the outpouring of the Spirit through us. Even those people who live in the flesh will simply experience change and walk in God’s divinity. Persevere in prayer in God’s throne room as a priest who reigns and in power!
