The explosive power of spiritual awakening is largely determined by the focusing power that we have:

  1. The Holy Spirit confirms for me to focus on ‘training to build the spiritual man’. Focus on that and don’t get distracted by anything.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NIV) Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

  • Focus on doing what God commands, don’t get distracted by the numerous winds of teaching and trends of this world.

1 Timothy 6:20-21 (NIV) Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to your care. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, which some have professed and in so doing have departed from the faith. Grace be with you all.

1 Timothy 4:16 (NIV) Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

2 Timothy 4:5 (NIV) But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry. Build strong intentions and determination to build awareness of God’s reality all day long through prayer, worship, and meditation on the Word.

1 Timothy 4:12-13 (NIV) Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching.

4. Be cautious of distractions.

This is an attempt by the enemy to draw our attention away from God and His will. Disputes, bitterness, worries, and various forms of fear, those are all distractions.

1 Timothy 4:12-13 (NIV) Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching.

5. Resist the lures of success and all the glittering wealth of this world! Guard your heart and stay focus on pursuing divine things.

1 Timothy 4:12-13 (NIV) Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching.

6. Beware of the words of people that are used by the devil to turn our footsteps away from doing God’s will!

Stay focus on praying the verses of the Word that is delivered by the true spiritual father until our spirits are on fire!

2 Timothy 2:16-18 (NIV) Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly. Their teaching will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus, who have departed from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already taken place, and they destroy the faith of some.

7. Focus on serving God in the throne room through prayer and worship. This is first and foremost!

2 Timothy 4:7-8 (NIV) I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
