Staying Victorious in Spiritual Warfare: Training Tips from 2 Timothy

This morning the Holy Spirit again give a confirmation: Continue to condition yourself to have freedom in the spirit. Make sure that there is nothing that suppresses our mind and emotions! The point is that our spiritual man must always be in prime condition and fresh. This is absolutely important to set us free from the effort of the enemy to distract us that wants to make us weak and lose hope.

From this I learn that, it is inevitable, the training to build the spiritual man must be done every day. Therefore, we need to build an athlete and a warrior mentality.

2 Timothy 2:4-5 (NIV) No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer. Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules.

1. Train hard even when there is no battle or tournament. This must be a strong and unanimous determination!

2. Discipline of time in quiet time and dancing and cheering in the morning even though the ‘condition of the body’ is often not in favor. Like it or not we must force ourselves to start ‘by the flesh’ but make sure to end it in the Spirit.

3. Set the time and duration, and complete the training that we do until our spirits are burning.

4. Pray in the spirit and declare the Word with all your heart, soul and strength with a full awareness that all we need is the reality of God and His Word.

5. Discipline ourselves to read the Word more often, make declarations, and pray in the spirit in the midst of the activities we are doing.

6. I sense further that we are entering the moment of the outpouring of the Spirit upon every human being. God wants us to prepare ourselves to be the instrument of the outpouring of the Spirit!
