In the true Christian life, every person who has been born again has a kind of life that is divine (Zoe) within him.

John‬ ‭10‬:‭10‬ ‭(NASB1995‬‬) .. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

‭‭This divine life is obtained through the work of the Spirit and the Word within the person.

1 Peter 1:23 (TLB) For YOU HAVE A NEW LIFE. It was not passed on to you from your parents, for the life they gave you will fade away. THIS NEW ONE WILL LAST FOREVER, FOR IT COMES FROM CHRIST, God’s ever-living Message to men.

The divine life in one’s life will naturally move him to start seeking the truth of the Word profoundly. Just like a newborn (a healthy baby) naturally, it will instinctively suckle her mother.

‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭2‬-‭3‬ ‭(NET‬‬) And yearn like newborn infants for pure, spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up to salvation, if you have experienced the Lord’s kindness.

At first, the urge that someone feels in seeking the Word often revolves around:

1) Things that are sweet and pleasing to him – Psalm 19:8-10, 81:16, 119:103-104

2) God’s promises concerning his future – Exodus 33:1-3, Deuteronomy 11:24-25

Typically without heeding God’s commands or conditions as written in Deuteronomy 11:22. These are the principles of the truth of the Word known as ‘Milk’.

Paul described the ‘milk’ of the Word with the Greek word: Gala, which is a figure of speech about the truths of the Word that are ‘not too difficult’ or not too demanding.

The book of 1 Peter 2:1-2, confirms that ‘a person’s passion for the word’ can become ‘corrupted’ when he continues to allow negative emotions and resentment towards other people to remain in his life!

1 Peter 2:1-3(TLB) SO get rid of your feelings of hatred. Don’t just pretend to be good! Be done with dishonesty and jealousy and talking about others behind their backs. Now that you realize how kind the Lord has been to you, put away all evil, deception, envy, and fraud. Long to grow up into the fullness of your salvation; cry for this as a baby cries for his milk

The ‘milk of the Word’ supposedly will bring us to grow, become strong, and have the full restoration of life. But inner conflicts that are not resolved thoroughly will ‘spoil’ the divine influence that should be experienced by someone who consumes ‘the milk of the Word’.

Therefore make certain to always guard your heart with all vigilance. Make sure your heart remains clean from various forms of inner conflict or resentment toward anyone. Enjoy the spiritual growth that brings you stronger in God. Even by the milk of the Word, your life is made whole in His presence.
