This morning the Holy Spirit taught me to know Him as the Lord of Enoch!

Genesis 5:22-24 (NKJV) After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters. So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.

Hebrews 11:5 (NKJV) By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

Jude 1:14-16 (NKJV) By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

There are not many records in the Bible that tell about Enoch, but each story has a very deep impression:

1. Enoch had faith that God is the One who conquered death, is eternal, and is able to bring his body into eternity without going through physical death.

Because of that faith God raised him alive – life into eternity! We should know the God of Enoch, namely the Lord Jesus Christ Himself who defeated Satan, sin, and death, and gave us ETERNAL LIFE. It’s a loss to believe that we will die while God gives us eternal life on this earth!

Can we withdraw our faith capacity at that point? It is very possible and of course we will receive many benefits! At least we are not people who can be afraid of death, on the contrary death is afraid of us as believers. For it is no longer we who live, but Christ in us!

2. Enoch is a person who dedicates his life to walking with God, understanding God’s heart, and completing His will to the end.

Enoch focused on this in the midst of the family life he had to live. There is no detailed description of how he lived that life, but what is certain is that Enoch bore witness that he lives according to God’s heart. So, in short, Enoch showed God’s ways for his family and guided them to walk the same path. It was Enoch’s responsibility that he completed before God.

3. Enoch prophesied the end of the existence of the wicked on this earth who would be replaced by the righteous.

So, it doesn’t matter if we are currently in the midst of a crooked generation, because wickedness will end soon! Our part is to continue to be connected to the existence of the living God and to associate closely with Him. Have the mentality of Enoch, who is not afraid of wickedness, does not feel small in the face of wicked rulers of land, and is not afraid of confrontation. He faced it all with the confidence of faith and believing that this earth belongs to Him and His children.

Enoch’s story is not over because Enoch is a lineage of Christ just like us. We will once again manifest the God that Enoch worshiped on this earth who has swallowed all forms of death in victory! Our part is to walk with God and His Word until we are one with Him (putting on immortality).

1 Corinthians 15:53-55 (NKJV) For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?”

So, how important it is for us to have a living fellowship with God and His Word. Don’t take prayer and reading the Word for granted, if we do it because we love God, it will have an eternal effect on us!
