This morning the Holy Spirit reminds me not to depend on “own strength” not even to
depend on the “strength of the spiritual man”. Rather rely entirely on the power of God’s
faithful love.

What the Holy Spirit says makes me understand that in fact the life I am living is not
because of ‘my strength’, but because of God’s faithfulness alone. No matter how strong we discipline ourselves in building the spiritual man and loving Him, still there are many weaknesses that we are not aware of. If it were not for Christ’s sacrifice and His
faithfulness, our lives would have been destroyed by evil spirits long ago.

From the reflection above, I learn to be a humble person and continue to depend on
Him as a faithful God. Dependence in full awareness that without God we are nothing
and no one.

Looking at the day ahead, I am more convinced that I will be safe in His faithfulness. I
must not rely on strength, ability, or any other physical things. But 100 % rely on His
reality alone.

I understand, why does the Bible write that the heart is cunning? Because it is possible
that without realizing it, our hearts begin to feel secure in our own strength, and with all
the physical things that we possess.

It makes the attitude of our hearts become different when facing something. Back then
we BELIEVED in God so much, but when things got better, this heart also becomes
diverge and comes up with many alternative choices to be solutions other than His
word!

We must often remind ourselves that truly we only have God, and only God who we can
rely on, not money, wealth and position. It is the inner truth that we must maintain so
that our lives continue to please God’s heart.

Unknowingly this heart becomes so ‘arrogant’ when gazing at the future. We think that
we have the ability to rely on, but we forget that God does not ‘take care’ of us because
we are able to survive, but only because of God’s faithful love.

Jeremiah 17:7-10 (NIV) “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? “I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.”

Psalm 51:6 (NIV)
Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret
place.

This is the time that we remind our own hearts to always hope and depend only on God!
Our hearts need to be guarded with all vigilance, so that the inner truth can be maintained and become a magnet for all divine things to come and manifest themselves
through us. Our hearts need to be guarded in all alertness, that the inner truth can be
maintained and become a magnet for all divine things to come and manifest themselves through us.
