John 10:10 (NKJV) The thief does not COME except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have COME that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
John 6:63 (NKJV) It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.
Proverbs 18:20-21 (NKJV) A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; from the produce of his lips he shall be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
Ecclesiastes 10:12 (TLB) It is pleasant to listen to wise words, but a fool’s speech brings him to ruin. Since he begins with a foolish premise, his conclusion is sheer madness.
The verses above confirm that WORDS THAT COME OUT OF OUR MOUTHS actually have power or influence in our lives and in others.
1. Do we realize that the words that come out of our mouths are in fact greatly influenced by the dimension of the spirit that is COMING close to us?
If the ‘thief or the evil one comes’, then the words that come out of our mouths will be self-destructive and also destroy other people’s lives.
For example: When we are angry and annoyed with someone, surely our mouths will speak expressively about the nature of the spirit of anger that is coming closer to us. Our mouths can rebuke, curse, and say things that reveal the contents of an upset heart. That’s when the enemy is destroying ourselves (stealing, killing, destroying). At that moment we are sowing bad things in other people’s lives! Get ready, we will reap what we say. So be careful in ‘speaking’.
2. If we continue to ensure that our connectedness with God’s reality is maintained: Keeping our hearts free from conflict, anger, disappointment, and immediately forgiving and forgetting other people’s mistakes, then at that time various divine dimensions will come closer. So that the words that come out of our mouths are words of blessing, life, and building ourselves as well as others.
I found that the problem of ‘forgiveness and keeping the heart clean from all conflicts’ is still a problem for many believers. It is used by the devil to become a powerful ‘means or instrument’ that destroys the lives of believers. I don’t know why we become believers who forget our nature as children of God.
Matthew 5:9 (NKJV) Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
Matthew 5:44-48 (NKJV) But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
Naturally, our nature always expresses peace and love (free of inner conflict) because that is the nature of our Father in heaven. This does not need to be TAUGHT repeatedly, because that is our DNA. Just as we see our own children ‘inherit’ our nature, that’s how we should inherit the nature of a loving and forgiving Father.
So that our mouths will issue words that BRING THE PRESENCE OF THE FATHER to the lives of many people. Even bad people can experience an encounter with the Father when interacting with us as children of God.
3. I feel like I’ve been realized to be careful in what I say, especially when our emotions and moods are turbulent in a negative direction.
We still often think it’s normal if our mouths express anger and annoyance. Even though it’s not fair!!
Psalms 4:4-5 (NKJV) Be angry, and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still. Selah Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.
Psalms 4:4-5 (TLB) Stand before the Lord in awe, and do not sin against him. Lie quietly upon your bed in silent meditation. Put your trust in the Lord, and offer him pleasing sacrifices.
Galatians 6:7-9 (NKJV) Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
Actually, it is not difficult to do good, our mouths are the easiest means for us to do good. Say constructive things and pray for the good of others, this is a lifestyle that will make us instruments of righteousness that free the lives of many people from the hands of the spirit of death.
