Transformed by the Word: Living a Life of Victory through the Holy Spirit

Acts 1:8 (NIV) But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

The word “power” is written from the Greek word, “Dunamis”, that has several meanings as follows:

  1. An ability that stays permanently in someone’s life (inherent power) – such as a birth right or privilege.
  2. Power or influence such as the one that is possessed by wealthy people,
  3. Power to do miracles.

Heavenly Father has given all power and authority to Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:19-22, Philippians 2:9-11), and as His body we are also given the same authority to be His witnesses wherever we are and sent. What is the will of the Father will be realized through our lives.

Mark 16:17-18 (NIV) And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”

Furthermore, the word ‘comes on you’ (Acts 1:8) is written with the Greek word ‘Eperchomai’ that can be translated as: Influence, take over, or operate in life. The Holy Spirit will continue to influence and begin to operate taking over our lives.

What is the plan, design and even schedule in our daily activities, all of a sudden will be taken over by the Holy Spirit and changed to do His will. If we respond to this accurately, surely we will experience various divine things that states His power and glory. There will be power (dunamis) that we will receive, when the Holy Spirit is poured out and takes control of our lives.

John 1:1-5 (NIV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome[a] it.

When the Holy Spirit operates in our lives, the power of the word is also working, and condition everything we need to be divinely fulfilled. Various abilities, potentials and resources that we never had before, suddenly appear in His favor and grace. Through the power of His word and Spirit, He will mold more a different type of life in our lives, which is the divine life that has the power to swallow up all manifestations of death, demons and sin in His victory.

The season of divine encounters will bring us closer to the presence of God and develop a sense of need in such a way. Thus, making us to still have a high desire to pursue the reality of God that touches and changes our lives.

What we experience in God, surely is needed by many people out there. In these days God is raising up us as His chosen people as bearers of His reality to be witnesses (‘marketers’) for Him.

Continue to surrender our lives in God’s hands. The power of His Holy Spirit will guide us to interact with people who need God’s touch from the numerous bonds and shackles of this world. The power of His Holy Spirit will guide us to interact with people who need God’s touch from the numerous bonds and shackles of this world. Our testimonies, words and preaching will bring the power of the word which is able to drive out all manifestations of ‘darkness’ in every aspect of the lives of those who interact with us. God will bring us up as a light for His glory.
