Hebrews 13:7 (NIV) Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.
Paul affirmed : God desires the same measurement of faith as He has built in the life of a leader or God’s servant that is also built in the life of the congregation. This is the reason God raises up leaders to equip the life of the congregation that is the leaders and congregation together achieve unity in faith in Christ.
Ephesians 4:11-13 (NIV) So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
So, one of the reasons the life of the congregation needs to be planted in a local church is to continue to be equipped and follow the same footprint of faith from the leader or spiritual father.
So, as congregation or spiritual children, we can ensure to inherit the same footprint of faith the leader or spiritual father.
In every word that is shared by the leader, we need to catch the impartation of the pattern of life and the life of faith so we can align the attitude of the heart, mindset, basic belief even lifestyle that we have to be the same like the leader who has gone through the shaping of the work of Word and Spirit.
What the leader believes, that is also what we believe. What the spiritual father receives and experiences, that is what the children of God or congregation should receive and experience.
The Bible writes that there are two versions of the story of two different people at different times and places, but have the same experiences and miracles of faith (the lives of Elijah and Elisha – 1 Kings 17:1-5, 2 Kings 4:1- 6).
This is what Paul emphasizes by saying, demonstrate the faith of the leaders that God raises up and bestows among believers. Because God desires that as His saints we may achieve the same unity of faith in Christ.
By inheriting the duplication of the life of faith from the leader or spiritual father, we can also go through the same journey of faith towards the fulfillment of the divine destiny as God has established through the life of the leader.
Build a measurement of faith by following the footprint of faith left by your spiritual father or leader. Thus, no matter what mountain of problems or difficulties we face, God will bring us beyond them, as victors!
