Fueling Your Spirit: The Importance of Interacting with the Word for Spiritual Vitality

Having an inner man that is continuously blazing is a normal thing, in fact, that is what we should experience.

Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭11‬ ‭(NKJV‬‬) not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;

‭‭The question is, how to condition our inner man to keep burning:

1. Continue to guard your heart (with vigilance and diligently) from all forms of inner conflict.

Ask for a heart filled with abundant love for the Father. Never repay evil with evil, but with good. Keep our hearts from all inner conflict ‘virus’. Because inner conflict (annoyance, disappointment, and anger) will disrupt our relationship with God. Be careful with the provocative spirit spread by the enemy through people who bring inner conflict.

Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭(NKJV‬‬) Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭44‬-‭48‬ ‭(NASB1995‬‬) “But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? If you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

2. Persevere in interacting with the Word.

Be diligent in reading the Bible, memorizing verses, and declaring Words. Solely interacting with the Word will make our spirits ablaze, enthusiastic in doing God’s will, and full of overflowing divine life. Look at the verses below:

Luke‬ ‭24‬:‭32‬ ‭(NASB1995‬‬) They said to one another, “Were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road, while He was explaining the Scriptures to us?”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭15‬:‭16‬ ‭(NKJV‬‬) Your words were found, and I ate them, And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts.

‭‭Joshua‬ ‭1‬:‭8‬ ‭(NASB1995‬‬) This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.

3. Watch our associations, make sure we are in a community of believers who continue to speak the Word, and not worry!

Be careful with the spirit of worry that wants to distract us so that we no longer focus on the Word (it intends to quench our spirit).

Colossians 3:16 (TLB) Remember what Christ taught, and let his words enrich your lives and make you wise; teach them to each other and sing them out in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing to the Lord with thankful hearts.

If we meet or interact with people who carry worries then we must fight it with the Word.

‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5‬:‭7‬-‭11‬ ‭(NIV‬‬) Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.

I believe, by doing the above, our spirit will always be fervent and victorious in peace that surpasses all understanding!

Romans‬ ‭16‬:‭20‬ ‭(NKJV‬‬) And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
